Mrs. Wood is very excited to continue working at Good Foundations Academy as a first grade teacher. She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix, where she graduated with Honors and holds a Level 2 Educator License from the State of Utah. This year, Mrs. Wood will be beginning her eleventh year in teaching. She taught Kindergarten for two years at Good Foundations Academy and was one of the inaugural year teachers. Prior to Good Foundations Academy, Mrs. Wood taught full day Kindergarten at Christian Heritage School. Mrs. Wood loves the challenge that Core Knowledge brings students and seeing her students get excited about what they are learning. She holds a deep love for the students that walk through her door and they always hold a special place in her heart!! Her hope for her students is that in the short time that she has them in her class-they learn, they grow, and they can celebrate their successes!! Mrs. Wood is the First Grade Lead Teacher, the Teacher Representative for the Guardian Committee, and has been a part of many different committees and teams in her time at GFA. Mrs. Wood has been married to her husband Kyle for 18 years and has three children. Noah is a senior at NUAMES High School and a graduate of GFA, Bella is a eighth grader at HighMark Charter School and a graduate of GFA, and Kyla is a third grader at GFA. Mrs. Wood feels fortunate to have had her children attend a school where they have learned from the amazing teachers and staff that she works with at Good Foundations Academy. When Mrs. Wood is not working in her classroom she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering as the Key Volunteer for her husband's unit in the Utah Air National Guard supporting military families, shopping, traveling, and Starbucks!! Mrs. Wood was the 2014 Good Foundations Academy Teacher of the Year. She was also the 2017 151st Mission Support Group Volunteer of the Year, the 2017 Utah Air National Guard Key Volunteer of the Year, and the 2017 Utah National Guard Servicemember and Family Support Utah Air National Guard Volunteer of the Year.
