Shari Mabbitt graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina with a BS degree in Business Administration. She has four boys and two grandchildren. Desiring to be involved in the education of her children, she home schooled for four years. Shari continued her career in education pursuing licensure. She taught preschool in South Carolina before moving to Utah. Shari has taught for more than 15 years in Utah, and has been teaching at Good Foundations Academy since it's beginning. She holds a Level 2 Professional Educators license from the state of Utah, and is currently pursuing her Masters of Education degree. Shari has served on an accreditation team for the state of Utah, and at GFA is a member of the Academic Leadership Team, the UPIPS (Utah’s Performance Improvement Program System) Steering Committee for Special Education programs in Utah public education agencies, the curriculum review committee, and loves working with new teachers as a mentor teacher.She is passionate about the mission and vision of Good Foundations Academy. She loves teaching Core Knowledge and delights in sharing what her students know and are learning. Shari also believes in the importance of teaching her students at GFA what the seven foundation stones of character are and how those character traits can be demonstrated in their everyday life. She believes that the combination of Core Knowledge and character education that the students at Good Foundations Academy receive, sets them apart from other students. She is proud to be a part of the wonderful community and staff at GFA. Apart from teaching, she enjoys exercising, reading, shopping,traveling, going to plays and concerts, eating out and spending time with her family and friends. As a family, they love hiking, camping, and backpacking Southern Utah, biking, rock climbing and rappelling, watching movies, sledding, skiing, and snowboarding.
