Mrs. Cunningham is excited to be continuing in first grade at Good Foundations Academy and teaching the Core Knowledge curriculum. She loves to teach and watch the blossoming of our students when they are learning. Prior to Good Foundations, Mrs. Cunningham taught for 9 years at Christian Heritage School. She graduated with a BA in English from Weber State University. She received her Elementary Education certification from Western Washington University. Mrs. Cunningham holds a Level 2 Educator License and is qualified to teach K – 12th grade, but feels that 1st grade is her niche. She has also earned her Highly Qualified status in Elementary Education. She finds Core Knowledge to be a challenging curriculum for eager learners and is excited to see the growth of her students throughout the year. Core Knowledge engages the students and keeps their interest. It sparks their curiosity, so that they want to learn more! She also appreciates the addition of Character Education, which she feels is an important area of learning for all students. When students show that they have incorporated good character traits by their actions, they become great examples of our future leaders. Mrs. Cunningham is married (some say to Santa) and has one daughter, Savannah. In May of 2017, Mrs. Cunningham became a grandma! Mrs. Cunningham loves animals, especially her dogs and bears! She also enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and enjoying the outdoors – looking for critters, of course!
