David Dau

Executive Director

Dave Dau lives in Draper with his wife, Wendy. He has three adult children, Zach, Caleb and Sierra. He was born and raised in Nebraska, and is still a loyal Cornhusker fan. He served in the Army for three years and was Honorably Discharged. He graduated from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, and earned degrees in Social Studies and Education. He also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah.

“Over the years, I have served as a teacher, assistant principal and head principal at the elementary, middle school and high school levels. I have served in Davis School District, Canyons School District and a number of charter schools. While the needs of each of these schools was unique, I learned much in each environment. I have a core belief that I commit myself to every day. I want to create opportunity for each and every one of our students. I think this is a core belief that every GFA parent, student and teacher can support. GFA is an amazing school with a proud tradition. I hope to honor that tradition while becoming part of the GFA family.”
